New Trouble I is the first in a series of salons created by Billy Bulthteel and Adam Linder.  Invited artists respond to a seminal piece of music and together produce an improvisational set inspired by it.  Each session invites 6 artists – 3 musicians and 3 dancers paired in duos – to bring their practice to the stage.  The first session took its inspiration from the band COIL and their track ‘Are You Shivering?’ from the album Musick to Play in the Dark [1999].

New Trouble is a means to generate new performative affiliations between sound and movement outside the boundaries of institutitonal demand.
